Sky Line Rental - Broadband Question

We have just signed up to Sky Line Rental as opposed to BT but not taken any of their other packages?

Has anyone else done this and then used another broadband provider other than Sky? We are in the middle of a broadband contract so want to transfer across our existing provider.
A person on Sky live chat helpline said this would be fine but having read other forums, I'm not entirely sure?

We have had so much hassle from BT I was hoping this was going to be much simpler but not entirely sure now!!

If you are on a BT line and pay your line rental to Sky then you could use any BB supplier.

However should Sky move you to their telephone network, very unlightly, then you would only be able to have their broadband.

The question that arises is why would you move to Sky for your telephone? Price is much the same as BT, and if you use line rental saver from BT it works out around £10/month.

We are not switching from BT to Sky. We just moved into a new house so are being connected for the first time. The line in the house is originally a BT one but not currently active. We were going to connect with BT but they have been absolutely awful! I can't believe how bad their customer service is! Sky seem to be so much more helpful (for now!)
Just hope the broadband situation doesn't turn out to be complicated.

Funny isn't it as BT OpenReach do the work irrespective of who you are paying.
