Strange payment received into RBS bank account

I received a payment from some unknown source into my RBS account.

Under type where normally it is cheque BGC, DPC for transfer it is blank.

In the description it says "From FRB XXXXXXXX"

If anyone can offer any suggestions as to where it could have come from because I didnt expect any payments as this is not my main account.

I would go into your bank/ call them and ask. Usually they can give you more information

Have a look back at who has been paid from this account and see if the amounts fit.

Looks like you've got a Fixed Rate Bond that has matured.


If the payment was received at the end of April, it's the interest you've accrued.

On a serious note your best speaking to your bank before you spend the funds just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for all the suggestions, sadly I didnt win the Nigerian Lottery but Twister was right it was interest from a fixed rate bond, totally forgot about it as money was sent from this accont not my main one.
