Can anybody recommend a good one? My daughter now needs one and wants to get a good account with most +'s. Looking around Santander seems to tick most boxes but heard so many scare stories. trying to push her to Nationwide or Co-op but as usual she knows better.

Her bank account her choice. Honestly, shes going to be using it for general spending, any bank is good enough, just go for the most convenient.0

Santander for best rate / worst service.
Lloyds for decent rate.
As above, unless there's going to be a large amount in there, I'd go for whichever bank has the nearest branch.0 -
or Try HSBCMyAccount (age 11-17 year olds)
At the age of 11, you will also get your very own current account.
You will receive a cash card giving you balance details and free withdrawals at any HSBC cash machine.
At age 13, you can have a debit card (with parent permission) which allows you to buy online and in shops.
You can't go overdrawn, so don't worry – you can't spend more than you have available.
You can top up your mobile phone at HSBC cash points using your MyAccount card.

At 16, she'll go her own way. if she chooses Santander, let her learn the hard way. It'll be a valuable lesson that she'll not forget easily.0
