Have I been a fool with orange?

I recently took out a contract with orange (that is not the foolish bit I'm on about ;)) I did get the contract at a very good price and haven't had too many problems with them. I did still have a contract with BT at the time but the guy who phoned me told me they would refund the same amount of the buy out costs to my orange account, just email them a copy of my final bt bill showing the cost (around £45). I did this yet have had no refund through from orange. I sent them an email asking for the refund and have an email stating they will refund this on their final bill when I leave them  I know I was busy when they phoned but I know for sure that this was never mentioned or else I wouldn't have taken the offer. I just wondered if anyone else had been caught out by this and whether you have had any luck getting them to refund any earlier. Thanks Rainbow

Sounds like a classic sales scam...I'd take the refund as soon as you are out of contract. At least you've got confirmation that they will pay it eventually.
And more bad news-I'm afraid signing up with Orange for phone/broadband was a foolish bit too-one of the lowest rated providers around.

  • Hi Rainbow Moon

I'd advise to contact Customer Support again to query this matter. Without seeing the details of your account myself I can't be certain, but I understood that you should receive the refund as a credit to your account within a few days of sending in proof of the cancellation charge you had incurred.

If you'd like, I'd be happy to look into this for you myself. You can contact me via Facebook or Twitter, using the details on our Profile page.

    I hope we can help!
