A small error there, it must have 75% glass in the roof and 50% glass in the walls to be a conservatory along with a host of other technical requirements. The amount of glazing is not discretionary it is prescribed by statutory regulations in England and Wales. I do hope that by saving a few quid on getting an architectural designer you haven't left yourself open to enforcement action and a nightmare when you come to sell?
As others have said, speak to a few designers, (not necessarily architects) ask them for some initial ideas and get fee quotes. Most should provide an initial consultation (about 30 minutes) free of charge.
A design for a simple extension shouldn't cost that much and will probably save you money by having detailed drawings the builders can quote from. Plus you get a bespoke design that should enhance your home and possibly add value.
Good Luck0
