Hi
You need to make some substantial cutbacks to be able to make inroads into your debt. Has there been a recent change in your circumstance that has meant you have got into so much debt? has one or more of the adults recently lost their income? Are any / all looking for work?
You say you are depressed - have you been to your doctor at all specifically regarding this?
I know others have commented on your costs but I've jut highlighted a few which should be easy to change.Water rates............................. 64 is this metered or unmeasured?
Satellite/Cable TV...................... 57 drop to a cheaper package or cancel and use freeview.
Groceries etc. ......................... 500 should be able to manage on £300 for your family size including pets.
Petrol/diesel........................... 250 where are all the journeys to? can you cut back on these especially as none are commuting.
Buildings insurance..................... 50 shop around for this at renewal should be able to get quite a bit cheaper for B&C together
Total monthly expenses.................. 2127
Unsecured Debts
Description....................Debt......Monthly...APR are these all 0%? are you currently up to date with payments on everything?
g p...................11232.....288.......0
j m...................13000.....344.......0
citroen..........6000......160.......0
n m................4000......100.......0
smile..........................421.......10........0
barclaycard....................1000......34........0

You can see if you can get your water reduced or go on a meter
is there nothing you can do for income, even if it means staying indoors and doing stuff online or on the phone?Life is too short not to love what you do.0 -

This is true...:eek:Life is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Some nasty individuals around on this board atm.
OP, would you be better off selling and renting? The equity would cover all your debts and you'd be within budget then.
Of course, that might not be a great idea for the autistic children I realise.0 -
As others have said, groceries and travel can probably be cut (possibly as much as 50%). If you're serious about saving money then cut out the pay-TV. Freeview boxes are about £20, then change the phone/internet tariff to the cheapest possible. I wouldn't bother with the emergency fund/holiday fund and target the repayments on the most expensive debt. If they're ALL 0% then personally I'd pay the minimum on most of them but try to clear the lowest one first - it's a great feeling when you have fewer people to pay! Otherwise pay the most on the one that the 0% finishes soonest. It's only numbers.0

I've yet to see a particularly nasty comment there, some sniping but you can see other peoples points of view. Yes every-bodies circumstances are different and we do not know the circumstances but to say people are being nasty is a bit harsh.
It's the system that is wrong here, why work when it would need a 50k career to get the same.
The OP has 120k capital in the property, I'm sorry but your solution is right there. That is not being nasty or sniping it is being honest.0 -
Why work when you can be incapacitated and providing full-time care for disabled and challenging children?
Maybe not nasty. Ignorant certainly.0 -

I guess as one is in sheltered accommodation they're only providing full time care for 2. And one is an adult.
There are plenty of countries around the world where you don't get paid to be incapacitated or to look after challenging children.
And as for having a nice £120k cushion to fall back on, should the £50k equivalent benefits not be enough, well..........I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -
I see. They're just not suffering enough.0
