OH is going to text her best friend and see if she has any idea what the hotel is called.
or get them to write down flight n hotel details - every good daughter-in-law should get this info just in case *wink wink*!Gaffa tape is like the Force; It has a Dark side, a Light sideand it holds the universe together0 -
i was going to say a honeymoon hamper - just add little things like mr and mrs bits and pieces, maybe check your local pound store for little things and then personalise them in diamonte stick ons saying Mr and Mrs - things like cheap slippers, eye masks, maybe sun towels, and a bottle of plonk in the middle of it all. I always do hampers where i can, it makes something nice and cheap look really expensive and people always comment how thoughtful they are.0

What about a digital photo frame? I got one off Play for about £20 free delivery looks like I spent alot more. My mil2b got one for her birthday off me and I put her latest wedding pics on it for her.

I think we are going to go for the hamper. I have a bottle of champagne that I got for my birthday so that's my starting point

The wedding is only a week away though so I need to get a move on.
Other ideas are chocolates (seen a heart shaped box in b&ms or home bargains), champagne flutes, some sort of his and hers game, maybe some little toiletries for their holidays, a wedding photoframe, and hopefully a little album and we can go get a few pics from the day time developed and give them the hamper in the evening.
Any other ideas? Need to get a bargain hamper basket too!0 -
How about making a CD or buying a cheap MP3 player off ebay and making a playlist of the most romantic/happy/celebration songs? You could add to hamper or just that on its own. It might not be their fave tunes but it is a nice gesture that takes some thought and effort. I am getting married and would hope people do not have to get into financial difficuties. We have requested no gifts, but people insist on asking and telling us they must get something! I would rather no gift or a voucher or something more useful than just another toaster, but I would be even more touched by a homemade item. Any of the ideas here are really great and I bet they will mean a lot.0

If my daughter and son in law were struggling then I wouldn't want them to get me anything!0

Get them some luggage tags. You can get personalised ones online or just "Mr & Mrs" ones. Practical and a nice thought. :-):jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0

How about a nice hamper for when they get home from the honeymoon. The last thing they will remember to do after all of the wedding and the honeymoon is to make sure they have some nice food to get home to. Perhaps some nice cheese, ham and pate with crackers and strawberrys and cream, so when they get back they don't have to trudge up the supermarket straight away.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0

I think thats a lovely idea, and you could do the best of both worlds, do a small Wedding hamper, -
bottle champagne
photo frame
pr of champagne glasses
some chocolates
Small Cafetarie Pot (poundland)
matching teapot (poundland)
Could get small box posh tea bags, coffee - whittard of chelsea
If you have a home bargains near you, or Poundland you can pick up a few little bits, if you don't want to make it champagne, the supermarkets do 4 small bottles for £5.00 (handy size).
may sound really daft, but add a few nibbles in, as there most proberly spending the rest of the day checking guests etc, that 5 mins to themslelves would be a godsend.
As for packaging, - what about asking a wine merchant of they have a spare box, if not Morrisons have usually got some boxes at the back of the tills, you can cut them down, and cover it in wrapping paper, for the stuffing at the bottom, get some crepe paper or tissue paper (poundland, homebargains, the works), run that through the shredder, - perfect.
If you wanted to cover the top, go to a florist and ask to buy some cello wrap, may cost £2 or so, you can use that to cover the box, look really expensive,
You could always add an "IOU" booklet,
- get photos developed (lots of sites just pay postage)
- baby sit if theres younger siblings
the hamper for home - that would be amazing, how many times have you come back from hols and you end unpacking to find the milk.
Something like, milk, bread, - the basics, then something bit posher for the two of them.
I guess that 2nd time around they've got the toaster, the coffee maker etc, but personal and as your family, sure it would mean a lot more.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
what about bottle of wine, cheese, biscuits, coffee:kisses3: Married 29th September 2012
