HP Pavilion Laptops

Does anybody know if HP have got a scheme attached to the model numbers (4 digits) of the Pavilion DV6 laptop series and how/if they tie into the specs (it looks random to me)? Example: Pavilion DV6-3142sa
Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.

they normally have a generic model

    eg 3100

then a specific configuration of that model, ram hhd size, accessories etc.

    eg 3142

then the last 2 letters is the original sale country / region
