Thats good news. Do you have it in writing that they are providing a replacement? Even something like an email from them would be helpful.

I can just see them conveniently 'forgetting' about the replacement, in the hope you won't chase it after so long, then denying all knowledge that they were going to send it.

Another update... as you can see by the date of the last update this has been going on for sometime.

They sent a replacement, true to their word but still had to wait 14 weeks for it.

Replacement arrived with the same discolouration and a hole which had been "repaired", the replacement was reject to by me, again they sent out the "technician" this time they said it was "wear & tear", not bad considering i received it like this, they refused to exchange or refund the replacement, i complained and sai i was unhappy with their service, they sent out another company to review the suite who said it was manufacture defect and should be replaced. the next i heard was the retailer sent me a letter stating the damage was caused by the customer "using fake tan or lotion" which caused the suite to react. A blatant fabrication.
launched section 75 again with cc company in july (approx) they refunded me the full amount i paid with my card, i had to chase the retailer for my deposit as i had used my debit card to pay that. eventually got all my money i paid out for the suite, still out of pocket for reports, letters etc. they only took me serious for the deposit, after i told them i was prepared to stand outside their shop and leaflet their customers, and set up the facebook page
(it should be public with pics to view for all) it's set up to warn others so as they don't have to endure the same service i had.

That is still appalling behaviour from them and the credit card company. The credit card company is liable for the full amount paid, including the deposit.

I would still sue them for the rest of the costs you incurred.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

i did query with the card company about the deposit, they were standing firm on not refunding the deposit because i never used my card to pay it. i did read that they were liable but as i had the majority of my money refunded and still had the suite that Reids would refund prior to them uplifting it, which they did. i'm still mad as to how this company treat their customers but glad it's over now.. New suite ordered now so here's hoping it's a better one....deck chairs in the living room is more a white trash look than i wanted :rotfl:, still only an 8 week wait :(

i do however recommend strathvale furnishings for any upholstery/leather needs. they helped me out a great deal with advice and an independant report.
