Just wondering if the bank can still take charges of you if you are unemployed. as im unemployed, dont get much money, have my benefit paid into my bank, and so far last month, took £100+ off me in charges, this month so far, £40, is this right?

Yes, being unemployed has no relation on whether you are charged fees by the bank. If you explain to them your circumstances they might waive a few to 'break the cycle' but they have no obligation to do this. I would suggest cancelling all direct debits etc. until you get sorted and just pay people manually - that way if you can't afford to pay a bill then at least you aren't getting charges on top of it.0
