compatible printer ink cartridges

I bought a set of compatible ink cartridges on eBay but my printer is not recognising them. The ink light is still flashing and saying all ink cartridges are empty.
This is only the 2nd set of compatible cartridges I have purchased, both from different sellers, but I didnt have any problems with the first set I bought.
Could it be that I have been sold a dodgy set? The seller does have a lot of negative but being a power seller, their positive feedback outweighs the negative.
Some buyers left negative and said cartridges didn't work, others have left positive but maybe they done so before checking they actually work.
I have looked at the chips on all 4 of the cartridges and one of them is different to the other 3, (The other 3 are the same chip as the empty cartridges). Does this matter? The fact my printer is saying all cartridges are empty is showing theres a fault with all 4, not just the one with a different chip.
I have now ordered another set from a different seller so I will have to wait and see if these work when they arrive. It does make me wonder why they are so cheap (£3 for a set of 4). The genuine cartridges are around £40

See how the new set do, if they work then stick with the seller.
I use Pro Jet from bigpockets or UKDVDR but you have to pay postage as well. Bigpockets is £3:08 a set plus £3:60 delivery, UKDVDR is £2:56 a set plus £4:72 delivery. The delivery is not too bad if you order 10 sets or so, fortunately I have printers which use the same sets

I wasn't implying that it meant the items were good. I was just stating that being a powerseller, they had a lot of positive feedback (1,000's) which outweighed the negative.
I try not to purchase from sellers with negative feedback. I did look about but a lot of the sellers selling compatible ink did have a lot of negative feedback.
I have now found a seller with 100% feedback so hopefully these will be better ink cartridges. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/yeyecastleuk/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

My neighbour purchases her inks from this seller but she has a different printer to me. I did notice their feedback when I was looking a few days ago and noticed buyers had left negative to say they had problems with the ink. I guess there is just some dodgy cartridges about.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
