Just wanting to ask if anyone knows what info is needed when setting up a windows e-mail account.
They ask you to choose between POP3 and IMAP and then want to know my SMPT.
I have no idea what any of these are.
I only know I get my internet through Virgin and their e-mail never seems to work.
Any advice as I have no experience in this stuff.
Thanks.

Why not consider a Googlemail (Gmail) account ?

Web based emails (webmail) like Google can be read from any computer, a great benefit if you ask me.
POP3 such as a blueyonder or Sky email can only be read from one machine0 -
Yes, I also recommend Googlemail. The only difficult bit is the Word Verification which can take a couple of goes.0

well you dont know anything about emails do you apart from using all the FREE internet based emails.
to read POP emails you can have many machines set up to read these. i have 3 machines all setup with windows mail and my pop3 emails and can read from all machines also these blueyonder or Sky are what is called ISP emails, so you will have a webmail account with your ISP so you can access mails from your ISP account from any machine anywhere
googlemail, yahoo, hotmail are all good free email providers, but i can guarantee that a lot of online retailers now wont allow signup or orders placed using free email addresses due to high level of fraud from such emails.0
