    You wanted the house, so isn't it possible to want the house again if the price is right?

    Regardless of what errors the seller has made, and that includes dodgy building practices, eventually someone will buy this house, have it sorted and either make a killing or enjoy living in it. That could be you, but only if the vendor is willing to deal realistically now and you are emotionally up to it.

    Either way, have as good a birthday as you can in the circumsatnces.:)
