Men's moisturiser

Hi
I am at that age where I would like to start using moisturiser on my face and hands.
I bought a Nivea 'intensive care' product for way too much money.
Does anybody have any money saving tips on easily absorbable moisturiser?
One for the face
and possibly a separate one or the same one for hands.
I have used Vaseline intensive care and don't find it to be quickly absorbable and that is the one advantage of these expensive branded products.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards

I would want to consider why you feel your skin needs moisturiser.
I suspect that you are short of omega 3 and would be better treating the cause of your aging skin with omega 3, rather than the symptoms with moisturiser.
shows the protective effect of omega 3 on skin aging Taking an effective amount of omega 3 fish oil would help, as would including a tablespoon of Linseed meal with your cereal or other meals.
I'd also suggest you consider changing your main beverage to Green Tea as evidence of it's skin protective rejuvenation properties is mounting. I find making it with water off the boil and not allowing it to steep too long makes is better, particularly for those still acquiring a taste for it. A slice of lemon/ginger in it makes a nice change too. If you really can't abide drinking it then you can use it wash your skin.
But your skin needs to be kept hydrated and to do this, (allow the moisture in and out) it needs those omega 3 long chain Essential Fatty Acid molecules found in fish oil particularly EPA which can also be metabolised from linseed. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I would think any range would be suitable as long as you don't have sensitive skin. You should avoid applying moisturiser too soon after shaving as it may cause a rash. My husband likes my Garnier Synergie Daily Moisturising Fluid - it's mid-price, easily absorbed and not too highly scented.
Nivea lotion (not cream, too greasy) is fine for hands, OH is a builder and uses it. He also likes Sainsburys Active Naturals Milk and Mango Rich Body Moisturising Lotion, but I find the scent a bit overpowering!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

The best moisturiser for skin is water!
Dry skin is a sign of dehydration - drink more water.
Additionally, men of all ages should apply some sort of moisturiser after shaving. I use a shaving oil (soap and foam dry the skin) and moisturise with body shop face protector. The best moisturiser I've had is from Sephora (in France) but as you say, the more expensive brands are usually better."Beer. Now there's a temporary solution." Homer (Simpson)0 -
best thing would be to go to Boots + department store and try a few out.
L'Oreal Mens gets consistently poor reviews in mens magazines, Time Style etc... Clinique usually comes out pretty well.
I use Clinique Mens M lotion - £20 for 100ml so pretty expensive but very good on the face. My 2nd fav is box standard Nivea (in a white squeezy tube - £2.75 for a tube). Its nice and thick - prevents skin drying out after shaving.
Hydration is an important point - most people do not drink enough water.0 -
i use the L'Oreal mens stuff and find it fine.. although i do use a lot of the range together.0

I use the Nivea one in a white bottle - for extra dry skin. Fantastic for post-shave irritation. If you want one for your hands I would suggest Neutrogena.0

my ex uses cien, which is an own brand from lidl, and says its better than all the expensive ones he's tried before. they used to do a mens moisturiser, but ive not seen that in our lidl for ages, the general one, cien moisuriser is just as good though, and has no overpowering smell

Try Ammo, use to be around 9.99 per bottle, but now only 99p per bottle in home bargains.
Its a really nice non-greasy face cream and hand cream“Official Company Representative
