Live Gas connection but no meter

I was wondering if anyone can offer me some advice, i've just bought a new house and the old lady that live there previous to me decided she only wanted one bill (?!?) and so she had the gas disconnected and the meter removed.
Is it gonna be cheaper to get a meter fitted myself or get whichever supplier i choose to install it for me? Do they usually tie you in for a long period?
I have tried signing up for N Power through Quidco and then calling them a few days later request a meter installation and the customer service girl cancelled the gas switch over (i'm guessing i cant switch as there's no current supplier) which will invalidate the cashback so im not sure of my best option.
Any advice would be most welcome.

you need to ask for a new connection, if its been dead for a while a new service mpr may also be needed as it will be shiperlessDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
