Hello, a new telephone line has been put over next door's back garden from the pole at the end of our garden, from which seven others are connected. It seems very low, ie dormer bungalow, all the others are quite high up at the apex, this one just goes to the gutter, does anybody know the minimum height a telephone cable can go over a garden?
Thanks, Val

Examine the "BT Wayleave Agreement" which gives rise to the easement.0

You won't find anything in a Wayleave agreement about minimum clearances above ground.
3.7m is the minimum height the cable can be across a garden, if it crosses an entrance between fields or private land it needs to be 4m.0 -
OK many thanks, very helpful, BT had routed the wire down from the pole at end of our garden, over next door's garden, to the gutter height of their bungalow, where it entered the house, making it quite low, ours and others goes up to the Apex then down under the eaves to the point of entry into the house. It had been routed through the branches of our tree, so we have lopped the branches off that were slightly overhanging in case it damaged the wire in the wind.
It seems quite low to us, but we cannot take chances with BT as if our tree damaged their wire, we presume we would have to pay for it to be put right.
The reason for all of this was because new people had moved in and the phone had been disconnected for some time, and they needed to reroute the wire as there was a fault
Thank you very much for your kind help, regards Val:T0
