Tesco Wine Club - outrageous!

Options
I am absolutely furious - any ideas on my next move?

Last week when the wine offers email was received I ordered 6 bottles of Chateauneuf Du Pape on 45% discount and 6 bottles of Sancerre on 50% discount. Was very pleased with myself for being an MSE, until the delivery tonight...

The Chateauneuf was not delivered with a message "We are sorry but the following products were not available today - you have not been charged for them". HOWEVER this wine is STILL being advertised on special offer on their website! (Sancerre 6 bottles received)

Here's a re-count of "I said" v "Tesco said" from my telephone call:
I rang them to ask when I could expect to receive the Chateauneuf> They said I would have to re-order
But I just want Tesco to deliver what I've ordered> Sorry can't do that, why don't you look instore and see if it's available
I live 20 miles away from Tesco, that's why I ordered for the first time with the Tesco Wine Club. Also Chateauneuf is still being advertised on the website> Tesco don't have an online checking system SO THEY'RE ADVERTISING WINE WHICH MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE - IS THAT LEGAL?
But if I order it again might not the same thing happen again?> Yes we can't guarantee it
If I order again the minimum order is 12 bottles, but I just want the 6 I ordered> Yes you'll have to order 12 bottles
I'll also incur another delivery charge> blah blah blah Tesco will give a £10 discount for any order placed in the next month

I asked to speak to a Manager but was told they were all in a meeting, probably tasting my Chateauneuf Du Pape

Aggghhhhhhhhh

  • I had a wine club order which was delivered tonight of four different cases.

Two were sustituted, not what I'd ordered but OK, and as they are both presents which I need to get wrapped up and delivered I accepted them. The other two wines were out of stock. Just like bexsaver, all four wines that I ordered are showing as in stock on the website.

I am not impressed with them at all.
  • Problem with wine orders is that they come from the wine warehouse and have absolutly nothing to do with the store that delivers them to your door. Basically it arrives on a lorry to our store and onto a van, thats all the store does with it. Therefore if there are any issues the only people who can help is the wine warehouse.

What i would suggest as a Dot Com manager is that you ring the store that delivered and speak to the manager there. There is a small possibility that they will check the floor and if they have it avaliable they may be able to get it out to you. The problems will involve the payment of the wine, as you were not charged the first time they would have to take payment and due to it being a wine warehouse order they are not really able to. Depends on the manager but its worth a try.
