Real or fake help needed

Can anyone offer advice please.

I'm wanting to treat my hubby to an Emporio Armani t shirt. I understand from here that ebay is full of fakes but the one he likes on the Armani website has sold out so i've turned to ebay. I found this one I think it likely to be real as its close ish to rrp, in just XL, XXL, and feedback is good but I don't usually buy designer stuff off ebay so i'm slightly nervous

what would worry me is that his site http://thedesignercollections.com/ only gives a link to his ebay shop, why just has an ebay store if they are genuine

also he wants £44

It's not unusual for sellers to have a website and point it to their ebay address. It could be because they are not ready to launch it, or because the want to generate traffic to the ebay shop. In itself it does not indicate anything dodgy.
It may be worth trying to whois the site:
http://www.whois.sc/

PS a lot of stuff is more expensive on ebay than the shops it comes from... or Amazon.. nothing strange there.

WRONG, most business sellers use ebay to sell their products cheaper than they do in their shops


his site is set up with a screenshot of his ebay store with the words shop online now and a selection of his twitter comments.

i have been in the retails business online for many years and this sort of trading rings alarm bells as he is only trading through ebay

You obviously don't have a clue about ebay, if you think everything there is cheaper... :rotfl:

Just to give you an example, Littlewood, Very etc sell their items at higher prices there than on their own clearance website.
Just today I was looking at a 3M joystick mouse and it's much more expensive en ebay than Amazon.

If you post on a board where many posters are experienced sellers (and I'm not referring to myself here, there are a lot of bigger and/or more experienced sellers than myself) at least you should have some basic understanding of this selling platform.

Think i must be a bit of a cynic ! I always assume that any designer stuff on Ebay is fake unless it's being sold by a private seller. Although sometimes private sellers sell fake stuff too ! It's always a risk isn't it ?

Let's all behave and stick with the topic, all too often threads are highjacked by other posters having silly arguments.
The explanation could simply be that the categories we sell/buy in are very different and pricing patterns are different. Let's agree to disagree, be nice to one another and help the OP instead
