The advice in the article on mse is, if you've broken the rules, and the ticket isn't exorbitant, then pay.
What I don't understand is if this company is scamming people at large retail parks etc, how are they allowed to get away with it.
What rules did he break? At worst he was inconsiderate parking in a disabled bay.
The charge of £60 do you not consider that exorbitant. Look at police FPN's you get fined £60 for doing dangerous things like speeding, using a mobile phone, careless driving.
I bet £60 is higher then the local council PCN's [unless your in London]
They get away with this and are able to carry on because a percentage pay them. They are not breaking the law by putting up signs at car parks. With information telling you they will send an invoice if you don't comply.
We can only advise we cant tell you not to pay. However ask them first to sit back and think was their inconsideration really worth a penalty of £60.0 -
Thanks for the advice.
He is going to pay the fine, as it was his error and he really doesn't want the hassle of threatening letters to the registered owner.
I have told him not to park in a disabled bay, it is really out of character for him which is why he will pay the penalty.
Sorry, but this is nothing to be proud of.
'.....character.........he will pay the penalty.', utter twaddle, people with character DO NOT give in to bullies and scammers.
If he feels the need to salve his conscience for the terrible crime he has commited then donate the 'fine' to charity. I'm sure UKCPS have numerous charities to whom they donate. Give them a ring I'm sure they will match any contribution made.:rotfl:0 -
Who would they take to court?
They don't know who you are and it's nothing to do with the registered keeper.0
