What, you're saying I should get rid of AVG? How will that help? And what do I replace it with?

AVG free is bad enough, but you have the entire security suite

For starters, the firewall is p*ss poor - you shouldnt be using that on grounds its unsafe

Watchdog, security toolbar, all cr*p that slows the computer down

Keep it if you like

If you do uninstall, use the AVG REMOVAL TOOL as simply uninstalling always leaves bits running.
Replace with -
Windows firewall (Unless you require complete control of all connections in which case use COMODO firewall)
AVAST or AVIRA free anti virus
FIREFOX with NOSCRIPT using SANDBOXIE for browsing
MALWAREBYTES as a secondary scanner

What is you ISP package ?, cos upload is very slow to most peeps since you download more often / more than upload

I'm on virgins 50mb package so should be getting 5mb uploads but they've been going at around 20kb on my laptop which is wired to the router.

VM came out on Sat, ended up installing a new super hub, no good, rang tech support, told them to ping the modem and everything seemed fine so the engineer said it must be a problem with the laptop as my PS3, iPad and iPhone all get 3mb+ wirelessly.

Scanned with Malwarebytes yesterday, came up with 6 trojans, which it duly removed.

I've uninstalled AVG and shut down dropbox, but my uploads are still almost at a stand still. I think the best thing I can do is plug another laptop in and see if I have the same problem, at least that will narrow down whether its the computer or connection.
