I got an email confirmation and i've just called. Best Buy have said that my order has gone through and is now beeing picked at their warehouse.
  • Regarding Gamestation - remember that they will price match, and this includes trade-ins. I've done pretty well out of them by playing them off of CEX for example (and I think they may even knock the price back by a further pound to "beat" another shop).

You do need to provide certain proof that the item is available from that shop (eg in stock). For CEX deal comparisons they have been happy to look at a live web browser on my iphone (but it literally needs to be refreshed in front of their eyes).

I'm going to head down to Gamestation tonight because I also have points to trade in. So where I live has a Game and HMV nearby so I will look at their RRP, and there is also a Tesco Home but I guess they will be sold out of any crazy deals by that time.

Thanks Ninja - clearly you haven't been to Motherwell Gamestation :D

Just back from lunch time shopping - traded in Batman: Arkham City and FIFA09 for £27.60 (including £5 top up for trading in 2 games) so the break down is:

    MW3 for XBox 360: £44.99 - £5 preorder - £27.60 trade in = £12.39 + £17.50 for 2100 MSP = £29.89 - £26.00 on Credit - £1.98 on loyalty card = £1.91 cash today.

Got Arkham City for £4.99 plus Gears 3 from Game a few weeks ago. Gears 3 cost me £38 of which £22 was paypal from daily clicks.

I know I no longer have Gears 3, or Arkham City but I was finished Gears and got my monies worth from it, won't have time for Batman and have got a game I will spend my next 6 months playing.

Pretty sure that works out a good deal for me!

    MW3 & 2100 MSPoints effectively cost me £6.91 plus a couple of games - I'm chuffed with that ;)

People say about the low value in trading in games etc but I've played 4 top releases this year and only really paid full price for 1 of them, the others have all been heavily subsidised by the trade ins. If I'm no longer going to play them, I see no point in them gathering dust so putting them to better use.

I'm sure some holes can be picked in my arguments but my wallet likes how today has worked out!

Ordered from tesco and got mine this morning
  • It's so annoying for somewhere like Tesco not to be able to get it delivered on release day! I think in future I will stick to going to shop, I just hope I can get it when go out at lunch time

not checked mine yet but they only posted it yesterday so I dont hold out much hope, will be giving them a ring if its not there
  • Because Sainsbury's will eventually cotton on to that and make you pay the extra £10.

For the sake of a tenner I am happy with what I got.

See you on the battle field.
