There's some info here about it: http://www.kelsey-forums.co.uk/cgi-bin/cmm/YaBB.pl?num=1305917759/17

However I'd seek out a manual first.
I used to be a member on that site and left because of all the fools that have joined. So now i wouldn't trust the info on that site as people that say they work in a garage are asking how to fix cars that have come in.

Don't use the glue together boots they are really pretty rubbish - stretchy ones that you heat up to get on with a cone are much better though.

Other than having decent clearance under the car, something to catch the oil depending on what side you're removing, a few tools (basic stuff - a rubber hammer, decent socket set, BIG breaker bar for the hub nut) and half a day of your time I don't see why people think it's so difficult. Having said that, you will probably get charged in the region of £50-£70 for a garage to do it so it's up to yourself.

Don't know about the inner cv joint on these, I've used stretchy ones on the outers though. I wouldn't use the glue together ones either, I'm too messy with the grease to get it to stick.

Not a member either just did a quick google for info. Although it wouldn't suprise me about mechanics asking for advice, I know a few who couldn't find their own !!!! with both hands and a map. :rotfl:

I've just done the front CV boots and ball joints on my Surf, that was fun, hubs off job. :D

    An interesting answer

Where do you think mechanics get all their knowledge from?
    school?
No they swap ideas and knowledge and a site like cm certainly helps me when im stuck'
Absolutely crazy to slag mechanics who ask for help because lets put it this way its going to cost the customer more if mechanic isnt aware of a short cut and remember you arent going to get a top technician giving helpful tips away are you ,actually they do thoughread
just read the link too, looks sensible advice to me
