    Hi Clair,

    I think I understand the Question.

    The telephone keypad is alphanumeric (Has letters AND numbers)

    If you were to type out the name (Ample Bum or whatever it was:) ) then that would automatically type the number that it relates to.

    I.E. if i said type 'bed' then you would enter the coreresponding number which would be '233'

    Hope that's clearer.

    Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
  • So I could type words instead of letters and the phone would change that into numbers automatically? Plus, although it does make ample tum there are other words there too so would I have to use them too to make the phone number?

    ample bum! lol

    Most people also don't know that the first two digits after the 01 of most UK area codes are actually the keys for the first two letters of the place.

    Eg (just a few random places near me):

    01937 - WEtherby (93=WE)
    01274 - BRadford (27=BR)
    01924 - WAkefield (92=WA)
    01302 - DOncaster (30=DO) (NB. O used to be 0, not 6)
    01422 - HAlifax (42=HA)
    01535 - KEeighly (53=KE)

    Also,

    0121 = Birmingham
    0131 = Edinburgh
    0141 = Glasgow
    0151 = Liverpool
    0161 = Manchester

    Didn't work for 0171 or 0181 though, nor for 0191 as these were added later.

    Nice Bump Rizla. I Use that site a lot . I have got a few like 07XX 2432737(Cheaper)
    and 07xxx 468468 (HotHot) handy for a Hotline.

    Numbers combined with letters are also worth something eg 07xx 2472227 (247Cabs).

    Numbers on their own are also good.07xxx 247365 would be worth a bit.Ones ending 999 useful to Emergency Service Suppliers Eg security,plumbers.1066 handy if your in business in Hastings.007 for Bond fans,2012 olympics,and so on.

    Have you not seen the 0800 REVERSE advert claire?

    Look at your keypad, if you need to dial this you would dial 0800 7383773, but remembering 0800 REVERSE is easier than remembering the number.

    Well I just put in my mobile number and it came back with ****hymn man

    Which is cool as I'm an organist at our church!
  • I very rarely watch adverts, as soon as they come on I click mute because they are usually twice the volume of the programme I am watching-have never heard of the 2 adverts - honest!

    But I confess that I leave the "I want some Crusher, some lovely Crusher" advert on. lol
