A GOLD number is refering to telephone numbers of Mobile Phones (Usually).

People will pay large amounts for more memorable numbers than for boring ones and if it spells something good (467399 - spells - I'M SEXY) its worth more money.

I guess that depends on whether or not you number spels jack !!!!!! or whether it ACTUALLY SPELLS Jack !!!!!!. Would be worth a lot if it did, I guess.

All of mine spell Jack !!!!!!.

Golden numbers dont HAVE to spell something to be of value. 078?? 333555 or 456789 or 444444 will always be worth a lot.

"Buying" a phone number is a routine and accepted procedure.

Sometimes an "ordinary" number can find itself having a value - eg a business relocates but would like to have the same number (albeit with a different area code) as it had in its last location.

They ring the number needed and negotiate a deal with the current owner.

Once agreed, BT organise the change.
