Love Fuerteventura, whereabouts are you going/staying ? we love Caleta....we always fly from Newcastle as well...that is a bargain, wish we could get away. This is the first year we have not been since 2007.

I've never been to Fuerteventura before so I'm hoping its nice!

We are going to Costa Caleta, staying in the Fueresol Bungalows - it looks amazing! ... Weather seems great at the moment too! I cant wait!! My OH doesnt even know about it yet and wont until Thursday so it's going to be an amazing suprise for him!

That's the place.....It's great there..........so much info I could give you if you want to pm me, best part is it's only 10/15 mins from the airport Great places to eat, from Italian, Portugese, Chinese, Indian and the best......Nestors the Carribbean Restaurant (closed saturday nights). You can feed the chipmunks around past the harbour where the rocks are...they will eat out of your hand if your lucky, but quite well fed so quite picky...they love nuts, grapes etc. Piero's is good for shows on an evening.... I believe Bryan that used to be at The Flower of Scotland is now doing Karaoke there and he is great ! Best beach is the one across over the waste ground.....more sandier and not so busy. There is also a cafe/restaurant there across a walkway into the sea. Atlantico Shopping Complex is over that way too if you like to look around shops. Well, I think I've covered quite a bit...its a place I could talk about for ages. Enjoy !!

Also the local bus service is really cheap & a great way to explore the Island .

If you fancy the most delicious steak, Lins do a fab meal for 10 euros .

The Windmill bar do 2 for 1 priced beers all day

If you want a good beach there is a great one behind the Sheraton Hotel .:)

We used to have our full English cooked breakfast at Lins every morning. Yes, the beach over the waste ground behind the Sheraton is the better beach in Caleta....surprising the people that don't even know it's there. A trip down to Jandia is worth it...to see the beautiful carribbean style beaches...although you may get an eyeful, clothes are optional !

This is great! So much information for me! I'm so excited to be going! Can't believe the OH still isn't aware that we're even going!

I'm glad you mentioned that its only 10/15minutes from the airport because I decided against the transfer given from holidayhypermarket because it was £46 and I read somewhere that it's actually only about 11euros each way in a taxi so we'll just do that instead!

I'm going to print this info off and take it with me so that I know the best places to go!

I've been told its pretty windy - i've never been before so i'm hoping that doesnt mean it will be cold??

The OH LOVES steak so he will be happy with this! Oh and beer of course! lol.

Think i'll definately be trying to see as much of the island as I can in the 5 days that we're there so i'm glad the local bus service is cheap! Hoping this holiday doesnt end up costing us more in spending than it did to pay for the holiday! Lol.
