to my butternut squash and carrot soup, how can I rescue it?
It has a lovely flavour but a nasty burning peppery aftertaste, I can't bring myself to chuck it out, would really appreciate any and all help. I have tried adding milk but it's made no difference

Oh I don't know, the butternut squash soup that I made came out so thick that it sould have been used for quite a few household DIY jobs - especially any requiring a good adhesive or concrete effect! The DIY board would have been a very suitable place to post questions about that soup....
It had more problems than just 'too much pepper' though....0 -
Put a large raw potato into the pan of soup and bring to the boil. Boil for a few mins and the potato will absorb the pepper (does the same for too much salt too) HTH.0

Add a small tub of plain yogurt, stir in, taste.
