Hi,I am using a pretty new Dell Inspiron, 1545 (I think!). When Caps lock is selected, the cursor disappears, and doesn't return until I left click on the approx spot where it should be.
It doesn't bother me as I use shift to type a capital, but my husband has nearly thrown my lappy out of the window because of it !! Any ideas??There are no other issues with the Dell, just this....

A restore to factory settings solved it apparently. Try giving Dell Technical Support a ring (they are actually not too bad)If my post helped you in anyway, please hit the "Thanks" button! Please note any advice I give is followed at your own risk!0 -
I find the Caps Lock key highly annoying and have used this to convert it into a regular Shift key:

There are suggestions that this can be fixed by modifying a registry key. Depends if you are confident about editing the registry (usual disclaimer, doing the wrong thing in there could trash your OS, so always back up your important files first).
The key in question is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dell Computer Corporation\QuickSet\QuickSetControl which is probably set to 4, so try changing it to 1. You will have to restart for any changes to take effect.0 -
Thanks all,I did some searches first and saw it was a frequent problem, I am not AT ALL confident of fiddling around with the registry etc! Guess I'll be calling Dell tomorrow then...Debt-free...and staying that way...0
