Lightbulbs for bathroom - G50C?

Hi all,
my bathroom was renovated 2 years ago and I had spotlights put in. I can't remember what rating exactly they were, but they were an IP rating that was safe to use.
The lightbulb directly above the shower recently stopped working, and when I removed the bulb to note the type to replace it, the text said: G50C 240v 50w.
I was looking all weekend for a G50c bulb in shops with no luck! Is it just a GU10 in another guise?
I was also slightly worried, as when I couldn't find the bulb anywhere, I tried looking it up online (again with little success) but found a site which said that the voltage in a bathroom should be no more than - I think - 12v. it may not have been 12, but it was a very low number.
Anyway, is anyone able to help me with pointing me to where I can get a replacement bulb? And am I worrying unneccesarily about the voltage? The bathroom was renovated professionally...
thanks in advance for any help

If you were using 240 volts, it will be a GU10 bulb you are using. You can tell by the pins at the bottom. If they are thin they are likely to be 12 volt. GU10s are thicker and twist&lock into the fitting/holder!
12 volts are more common in a bathrooms, as they give a sharper light but you do not have to use 12 volts. 240 volt fittings (GU10s) are also very popular and can have the right IP rating for use over a shower. I expect you are using fittings like the following?

I think the C stands for covered, as in covered glass! I think all you need is a standard 50 watt GU10 light bulb. As long as the fitting is IP65 rated for use over a shower, you can just use the following -

Thank you for your speedy response. You've put my mind at rest re the voltage! Yes, those in your 1st link are just like the ones in my bathroom.
I saw plenty of GU10 bulbs whilst looking for the elusive G50C so I will pick one up later on0
