Hi there,
I have a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router which has been working happily for the past month or so.
However, I now want to make it more secure, so that my neigbours cannot hijack my broadband free of charge and steal my bandwidth. However, I can't seem to access the configuration part.
I have gone to http://192.168.1.1 the default user name is blank with default password admin, however, that does not work, and I can't remember changing it when I first set it up. Is there any way round this or am I stuck?
Also, have just noticed tonight that my 2nd pc connected wirelessly says it can no longer detect the network. I have tried to reset the link but it still doesn't work. I find this quite strange as it is using the Linksys WUSB54GS adapter that came in the bundle. Have checked with my work laptop (built in wireless) and that connects with no problems at all.
So 2 questions really
1) how can I find out / reset the username/password for the router
2) any ideas why my pc cannot see the wireless network?
Thanks in advance

There is a reset switch that you can press near to where you plug in the power.
Use a paper clip to reset the router & then you'll need to set it all up again0 -
I've tried the reset button and doing a power-cycle, but the default still doesn't work?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

It appears your router is a bit fussy about resetting, but try this:
