T Mobile Pulse Mini stuck on Android screen

Has anyone else had probs with their Pulse Mini Android phone that they bought a couple of months ago, the ones that were £29.99, then they went to £19.99?
My daughter has one and if you forget to charge it it dies.
By that I mean when it is charged up or even plugged in without the batter it just stickd on the Android screen.
If it has been charged then the Android screen is still staying on, take out the charger leadd and it won't turn off! Still stays on the Androis screen!
I was going to take it back to the nearest store and get it sorted but she has lots of apps and photos, tones on there that she would probably lose.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I have found a quick solution if anyone else is having the same problem.
If you hold in 3 buttons at the same time then it will restart again.
Hold in the volume down, end call and the power button at the same time.
Wait about 30 secs and it will load as normal.
I will have to remind her not to let the battery drain in future but after saying that it still does the same thing if it is turned off.

Update.
Ok, just discovered you don't have to hold all 3 buttons in at once.
Switch the phone on, if already on and stuck on the Android screen, press the vol down button and call end button at the same time.
That will get your main screen back on again.
Hope this helps someone else, I am sure glad that I found it, will have made a 12 year olds day when I tell her later.
