A newly registered buyer in Indonesia bought a 99p item yesterday. Since then he has emailed three times to ask if I can combine postage on a hat, a hot water bottle and a book.

I am not the seller of any of these items! I have tried to explain!

This is the problem with the new 'basket' it really isn't that clear, especially if you don't speak perfect English.

I have had recently, a 'where's my item' and immediate 'I am reporting you to Ebay for theft of my money' despite the fact the buyer didn't buy from me!

I even sent him/her the sellers details of the item he bought, but they are adament it is from me. <bangs head on desk>

Easily done if the listing is deleted for the item you bought, and you put slightly the wrong user name into the search on Ebay to complain about the item not appearing - did it myself not so long ago (wasn't me - didn't accuse the person of anything, just enquiring about a product that didn't work!!)
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
  • I got one that made me laugh yesterday - listing an orange cardi, no brand names or anything on Sunday and had a message yesterday asking for a BIN as they need the cardi asap.
Who needs an orange cardi urgently? Hmmm :/

Oh that made me giggle :rotfl: maybe it's a cross dressing builder who doesn't like the usual hi vis :eek:

I have been the silly buyer before though :o I got my mum a new stylus for her mobile after she lost hers and asked the seller nicely if they could please post to another address as it is for my mum. Seller kindly posted to

    'delain's mum'

and her address, causing my mum to breifly think someone had kidnapped me and was posting her small pieces of me (she can be quite paranoid) the seller must have thought I was batty not giving my Mums name :o
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o

I always put in big bold writing at the bottom of my listings 'please view my other auctions as I am happy to combine on postage where possible' people still email me and ask if I combine postage on multiple purchases!

I was selling a Goldfish bowl and was asked if it would fit over a human head as the bidder wanted to make a Buzz Lightyear Costume.

I regularly get 'item not as described' emails, when buyers say I've sent 5 not 10 items. Had another today.

I pack my items 5 accross and two deep (ie. five with another five above the first five). I've had it happen (item not as describe email) so many times i've even mentioned how they are packed in the listing. To pack differently I'd have to put the price up, due to bigger sello bags.

Worst thing is, everyone is up for a fight when they email me, as they think I'm out to rip them off. I rarely get an apologly when they go and check the parcel and find they do have 10.

At the moment (and for a long time now, but I darent bank on it) I'm a 100% TRS powerseller but ebay seems to bring out the worst in people.

Maybe your buyer is a panic at the disco fan?
