Eligible to take redundancy insurance

I have been with my firm for 6 years and in February this year I was given notice that my job was under threat of redundancy, I kept my job but after this scare I am wanting to take out income insurance, would I be eligible for protection if say in 9 months I was made redundant?
Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

When applying for the insurance and they ask is there any reason you think you may lose your job I will obviously have to tell them my job was under threat in February but would I then have my application declined?0
