Garden fencing

Hi, I have a block of flats which have clear visibility of my whole garden, and privacy is my number one concern. I'm the only house in the street which has this problem because my house is on the corner of the street, meaning i'm the only house with the garden in good sight by the residents in the flats.

I'm wondering what I could do to block thier view. Will I get permission to build a higher fence? I'm not sure if I can try anything else I'm lost for ideas.

Thanks

bamboo could be a good option, it grows quickly and tall. Much better than conifers too

Yes it does and it will take over your garden if you are not careful. It needs to be contained in a trench lined with overlapping paving slabs.

Google it. There are several specialist sellers online.

Be very careful when planting Bamboo. My daughter rented a house that had it in the back garden, it was like a forest and was complety out of control. We tried in vain to tame it but the more we cut the worse it grew. We were so pleased when she moved lol.

i think it depends on the variety, had it at my last house and it was fine.

I don't mind taking care of the plants, I like spending time in the garden daily so should be fine. I'll have a search around to see what I could do, last thing I want to see is my entire garden full of it haha. Thanks for the advice.

I'll have a look at this, will browse other suppliers too. Seems like a good idea though, just read the record bamboo has grown is 1m in 24 hours. wow.

Looks like it has its ads and disadvantages. If worse comes to worst and I fail to take care of it, I guess I can get rid of it from the roots.

If you go for bamboo, you will need a few pandas to keep it under control.
