I had session 1 today which went ok. My sessions are in my home and I have "homework" to do this week. Next week they are coming after school when we are all at home.

Triple P was a recommendation of CAFF and it has taken ages to set up. If i;d of known about this program a couple of years ago then maybe things wouldnt of gotten out of hand.

I'm interested, how much does this cost to set up then? My DD has horrible temper tantrums and I end up almost blowing a gasket with her. I would love a parenting course. In fact, I asked to be referred for one over 7 years ago but the HV said I didn't need it :(
    Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.
    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.

You sometimes find that they are run by local churches (but you don't have to go to church to attend!) Don't know if this includes PPP courses, which I haven't heard of before today. I can't remember what the ones I was aware of were called.

Surestart sometimes runs them, as do Action for children (see below for link) may not be in your area but do ring them and ask where the nearest one is.

Cost? It is free via surestart and action for children. There are independant practicioners that run them too, but they can be quite expensive ... My sil wanted to do one 'privately' as she 'doesnt get on with surestart groups' and paid £400!!:eek:

Dunno if thats reflective of costs throught the uk but she did it on a 1-2-1 basis...IMO a group is always better as you can share ideas and best practices with other 'real life' mums, not just the tutor!

Hello, I run Triple P courses and workshops and can 100% recommend them - they are free to attend and your local council should be able to help you with the latest groups or courses .. they may not be running Triple P but may run an alternative group depending on what the council chose to invest in... I am an accredited facilitator and happy to give advice if you want to pm me... best of luck - parenting is a tough job sometimes but also the best job in the whole wide world... xx
