Structural survey on a leasehold flat?

Would you have a structural survey undertaken if you were buying a leasehold flat? If so, what type of survey would you undertake?

    Definitely. Would probably have a homebuyers report, depending on the age of the building.

    What type of building is it?
    ie is it a converted house or purpose built in a block?

    It's a purpose built block of 15 flats erected in 2002/2003.

    As it's purpose built and relatively new don't bother about the survey.
    However if the property has gas central heating maybe think about getting a safety check done on the boiler.

    The house we bought was built in around 2003. We had a homebuyer's report done and, although nothing was graded '3', there were still several issues we're glad we were made aware of. For the sake of a few hundred quid, I just don't get why anyone would spend tens or hundreds of thousands on a flat or house without having at least a homebuyers report.
