On balance, I think it's genuine. I also think I would not do business with a company with such quaint practices, as I would not trust them to handle my details securely.

I have received the same email from this company. The amount on the authorisation form is for more than four times the amount that was on the original recepit. I have forwarded the email to their customer services department and await a response. It is also difficult to contact them by phone, they don't seem to operate the hours stated on the website. I trusted this company as they are part of the TUI group but I am not comfortable giving the information requested and am even more concerned at the price jumping to four times the original cost. I'll keep you updated!
  • I've never had any dealings like this - And to be honest if it was me I would just cancel the lot.

When I visit a hotel, they simply do what they do in every other place that accepts cards.

Insert card into PIN Pad, put PIN in and do a pre-auth. I then go back at the end of the stay and put my PIN in again to finalise the amount I need to pay to settle the bill.

Wanted to do anything else? I would just tell them I would find somewhere else - Not many places that don't wan't to accept your cash these days!
    David :)
£1 of debt is too much for me!
