Fakes?

Stupid I know, but I bought 2 watches from ebay (100% feedback seller), he asked for payment by Direct bank transfer, after the auction ended (I refused this method). He wants a cheque sent to a different address, with a different name on it. Now regretting buying the watches which I think are fakes, what can I do?.
P.S Reported the seller for illegal payment instruction via EBAY.

You can withhold payment and accept the negs and the nPB strike which has to be better than losing money if you are worried.
If he advertised paypal but now refuses to take it you can also report him to ebay as a non performing seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree with Soolin, but what exactly is illegal about the methods he suggested? My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
If you're not sure if they're fakes, PM me the auction number and I'll have a look if you want - I'm a watch collector of several years.0

Could be a legit reason (selling watches on behalf of a friend ?) but go with your instinct and bail out .
I personally would never buy clothing ,trainers, watches or jewellery off ebay .Its just full of snides..0 -
What make watch was it? If it's a really expensive quality watch and you've got them for a knock down price, then I'd be pretty wary.0

It kinda goes without saying if an item is cheap on ebay then it has to be fake.
Clothing is the worst on ebay. Type in "lacoste polo shirt" and you get 10,000 fake polo shirts for £8 each. Ebay doesnt care however as they make a lota money out of those fraudulent sellers.0 -

Whilst I agree there a lot of fakes about, it doesn't "go without saying it must be fake if it's cheap".
I clear items from my shop which is old stock, end of line etc which is brand new but I sell it cheap to move it on. It is all genuine, direct from manufacturers, and I know of others in the same line of business who do the same, so not everything that is cheap is fake.0 -
Would you rather lose a feedback point or £x ?0

There not illegal payment methods.
Just sounds like the seller has asked to be payed by a different method than asked for in the listing. Which is against ebay policy. As such you can ask for the winning bid to be cancelled, as you would not bid for this item had you known the seller would alter the payment agreement. So if you do manage to get it cancelled you would not get any neg feedbackMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
The watches I won were both RADO, one for the wife and one for myself, I bought one last year and paid £850.00 for it. I dont buy fakes or copies no matter what it is. The price I bought the EBAY ones were £156 inc del (draw your own conclusions).
The seller is pushing for payment.
On the listings page he asked for payment by Postal Order or Cheque, after I won he wanted Direct Bank Transfer, which is not covered by EBAY insurance (which will pay out a maximum £105.00).
rsykes 2000 I have PMd you the details.0
