Carpet Cleaner Recommendations?
JQ.
Can anyone recommend a good carpet cleaner / shampoo'er? It's for cleaning our household carpets but will also be used for cleaning car seats so needs to have an upholstery tool.
Budget is around £100 to £150, although we don't mind secondhand or graded goods from Ebay.
Thanks.

Which Magazine's "Best Buys" third choice (having regard to your price band) is a Bissell Powerwash Deluxe - scored 66% - which they say can be bought from Freenet Electrical for £109.99.Forgotten but not gone.0

Another vote for Bissell, we've had one for years, best investment we ever made. You can also buy reconditioned ones from their website which seem to have a good reputation. Just look at the price ( even for a brand new one ) and compare it with the cost of hiring a machine for a day - it's a no-brainer if you plan on using it more than about 3 or 4 times.0

Bissell are great! I've had mine about 4 years and it still works brilliantly! Always use the proper Bissell cleaning solutions with it though to get best results.0

Cheers. It looks like it's going to Bissell. We'll probably go for a secondhand one on Ebay. I suspect it's the kind of thing that some people would buy, use once and then it sit in a cupboard for 2 years, so I'm hoping there'll be some bargains out there - I've certainly found a few already.0

We have a Bissel that we bought for £80 from Ebay, and it's fabulous - has dealt with baby/toddler spills and messes, spilt coffee, animal related muck and mess for two years, and our carpets look fine.
Incidentally, I had reason to test it alongside a hired Rug Doctor - it cleaned significantly better. And having done several side-by-side tests, Stardrops is by far the best (and cheapest) detergent - better than Bissel or Rug Doctor brands. Just put a tiny drop of fabric conditioner in the clean water to cut down the suds.0
