Help with accessing web sites please

Hi,
Would be really grateful if anyone can help. Have got a new laptop running Windows 7 and am not able to access certain web sites. Get the message that the session has timed out when It's only been a matter of seconds. Other sites like Spotify or the iTunes store, say that there is no internet connection when there is.
I've looked around and done the obvious like turning off the windows firewall (only one) and allowing the programmes through, but no luck.
Am also trying to download the driver for my Epson printer, but not able to do that for the same reason. Also computer doesn't recognise the printer.
I am going slowly mad trying to fix this and would be really grateful for any suggestions.

Download, install, update and run a Quick Scan with Malwarebytes' AntiMalware. When complete, choose 'Remove Selected' if there is anything to remove and Reboot your computer.

After restart, open the program again and go to 'Logs'. Double click on the log produced for today and post the contents here.

Next, download and save both the Installer and the executable of HijackThis and use the Quick Start guide to enable you to produce a log for posting here too. You'll need to install(the installer) and run the(.exe as Administrator by right clicking on the downloaded .exe file and choosing 'Run as Administrator once downloaded and saved.)

Thanks so much for the quick reply. Have done the logs but as I'm a new user, the site won't let me post the results as they have links in apparantly.

Have you not got any anti virus on there ?. I am not the best for scanning these logs, so wait for someone else, but I don't recognise alotBHO.dll either.

Really annoying - just tried to install Adobe Flash player and not able to do so for some reason.
Downloading stuff is a nightmare. Some web sites just say not connected to the internet. AArgh!!!

Looks like that's the ALOT Toolbar, which displays adverts, and is "detected by Kaspersky, http://www.kaspersky.com/ antivirus as AdWare.Win32.Comet.be"

The reference to prxtbProd.dll (the "Productivity 1.13 Toolbar") sounds equally ominous judging by the linked Google search...

The references to the SpinTop DRM Control file (stg_drm.ocx) and ArmHelper Control file (armhelper.ocx) might also be problematic. Purely going on the Google search results, it seems to be associated with torrent sites, so it might be worth checking that no one is inadvertently installing malware on your PC.

It might be a good idea to install Spybot and SpywareBlaster (if you haven't already) and run a scan with Spybot too.

Am unable to run Spybot - get an error message ' a connection with the server could not be established'. Which is exactly the problem I'm getting all the time!
Also not able to update Malware - again error message.

uninstall norton using the norton removal tool if necessary

connect to router using an ethernet cable.

if you want an antivirus, try avast 6 free

Just under a year old. ISP is Sky. Norton appears to be uninstalled. Am looking for the ethernet cable and will try that later - thanks.
