My ISP (BT)has a free space for me and name which includes my name registered with them.
I am a visual artist. I have run lots of projects with all kinds of community groups and schools and I have done public art commissions. I run training courses for groups who want to host arts projects - these happen in Berkshire, Surrey and Wiltshire. I have some publications too. So I think I'd like something that has several different sections. I'd like it to be something which I can update. I have good images and I can write. Just don't know where to start. Should I make something in, for example, publisher and then upload it? Or what's the best thing to do?

I self taught through using Dreamweaver to build a couple of sites. It looks complicated to start with, but I soon got in to it. I also have BT space and use it for that.
You start by making your pages in DW on your PC then uploading them... if you have any questions, just ask or PM me.0 -
Thanks - when I have something I feel a bit ok about, would you mind if I showed you?
I have been asked for my website several times recently. I work freelance and so I want something where people can see a bit of a cv and examples of work.0 -

It might be worth looking at standards associated with the languages you are going to use (probably HTML and CSS). A good reference for this is the World Wide Web Consortium (http://www.w3.org/).
Using standards will ensure that your site renders properly across different browsers and is accessible to people with disabilities.
On the site there are some handy tools that allow you to upload your code and have it automatically error checked as well as plenty of code examples for different elements.
Hope this helps...0 -
if you are still stuck with this i will be more than happy to build you a web site. I am trying to increase my portfolio at the moment and its currently getting bigger.
Hope to help you out soon! Regards

Hi,
I taught myself HTML coding some 2 years ago to create my first website and would recommend learning at least the basic codes before looking at Dreamweaver.
The following website has some excellent tutorials which helped me learn:

Good Luck,
