to smeg or not to smeg

I am looking to buy a dual fuel (lpg) cooker and think the smeg (SUK62MBL5) looks the best and most energy efficient in my price range but reviews are wildly mixed regarding this company's reliability. Any experience of smeg cookers greatly appreciated or good alternatives...

I have an aversion to plastic knobs (no smirking) smeg seem to be one of the few to have metal ones.

i have many smeg products in my kitchen and have been very pleased with them. Do shop around for prices as they can vary, but I would recommend them. I also had a stoves gas cooker which lasted years, only replaced when had a new kitchen.
  • Thanks, the general consensus seems to be that people like smeg but the bad reviews are really bad.

I've had two smeg appliances, a range cooker and a dishwasher.

Both needed repairing within their warranty (under two years) the range cooker was repaired a total of 3 times before i eventually sold it along with the house when it was 5 years old.

The dishwasher is still going strong'ish, it occasionally shorts and has to be cleaned every week or two, but as it's now 11 years old, i give it some slack :)
