HELP windows live messenger

I been having trouble with windows live messenger ; like not saving my log in details my pic profile keeps dissapearing and all sorts of things
I looked in the help forum on windows so done what they suggested have uninstalled .re installed they said maybe there was a bad registry so i used revo uninstaller now i cannot find the messenger i re downloaded it has vanished as when i click on the windows live messenger to open it wont open done system restore and it still wont work done a full scan to see if got any virus or trojons but nothing so dont know what to do now can some one help. plz
I use windows xp

You could try Pidgin instead of Microsoft's adware-supported client...

What exactly says you have the update? Run through step by step what your doing

You have a downloaded exe file yes? Far as I recall its a silly microsoft one that loads then you select which programs you want (Windows live mail for example)

yes i clicked down load windows live then it comes up what you have down loaded and all the messenger /. mail/ securty/ and writer/ all have green tick to say ive all ready got then.
So i come out click on the messenger blue green people and it dont do nothing dont open and its not even on me bottom tool bar its just wont do anything , i have done this task before and its a simple thing to do but now i just dont know what is wrong

Sounds to me like its because you used REVO

i carnt even uninstall the windows live essentual from add and remove prog it dont do nothing

managed to sort it out in the end i uninstalled all if windows live throw ccleaner and reinstalled works fine now after taking me all day to sort it out ty any way
