Heathrow to Waterloo travelodge?

Can anyone give me directions from Heathrow to the Waterloo Travelodge, SE1 8UX, please.

She will be using the Heathrow Express into Central London but not sure how to go from there.

Thanks in advance.

Taxi from Paddington. If she can afford the Heathrow Express she can afford a taxi.

Better (and just as quick) is tube from Heathrow to Piccadilly Circus, and change there for Waterloo

The Travelodge website gives walking directions from Waterloo.

If she doesn't want to use the tube, then a 285 bus from Heathrow to Feltham and a South West train to Waterloo would be a reasonable if slower alternative.

£8.00 for a One day Travel Card. 285 to Feltham, then wait for a fast train upto Waterloo. Stops about 5 stations. You can then use the Travel card for the rest of the day. Must be machines at Heathrow to buy one.

Thanks for replies, I have passed them on to her. As it's going to be around 9ish she arrives in London we wanted the simplest route for her.

If that's 9am she will have to wait until 0930 for the £8 travelcard, unless it's a weekend. And she will need to have booked early checkin at the Travelodge. They don't store baggage otherwise.

If it's 9pm then the above doesn't apply - either a £5 tube single to Waterloo or £2.20 bus plus £5.50 train via Feltham. She presumably won't need the extra travel allowed by the travelcard at that time of day.Feltham.

Thanks dzug, should have said it was 9pm, tube sounds ideal. Thanks for your help, haven't a clue travelling in London as its been about 25 years since I was last there and it was only to pass through airports then.

If your friend has lots of luggage then going up and down the steps might be a problem when using the tube. The bus will take longer but will be easier to store luggage on the bus (unless it is packed!)

Also Travelodge will not you check in earlier than 3pm unless you pay £10 for early check in

Just a teeny hint about getting to the travelodge from the station, take the exit out of the station close to Marks and Spencer food store, go down the escalator until you've got McDonalds on your right, turn right out of that exit door - should be opposite a Sainsbury express or similar. Cross the road to be on the same side as the express shop and then turn RIGHT down that road - cross at the nearby lights (now opposite an old converted firestation pub) and keep walking for about 2-300 metres and the travelodge is just there.

We had directions, but spent ages going off in the wrong direction, but it really is that simple to get there. Rooms are lovely at Waterloo and breakfast is fab!
