Potential mold in my apartment

..but I'm not sure. My carpeted bedroom has a distinctly dusty, almost sweetish smell but I can't place where it's originating from. I also suffer from a series of allergies which are severely aggravated from living in this rented apartment (I was recently on vacation in Longleat and slept like a baby over there). I suspect that there could be mold growing underneath the carpets but I'm not a mold expert.
Therefore I was wondering if you guys know of anyone who might be able to help me? Before I go running to my landlord, I'd like an expert to check out my flat and identify for certain whether I have a mould problem or not. I live in the E3 part of London.
Any suggestions?
