north wales day boat hire

hi all me and hubby are going to stay in north wales in midweek in july, and wondered if theres anywhere that we can hire a self drive day boat , the sort you get on the norfolk broads, that you can hire hourly, hald day etc, cheers in advance x x x

there are boats on padarn lake Llanberis i looks to me like there for hire but will look more into it. Has been asked where in north wales are you thinking as i cannot think of any canal types than the other link which is north east wales a good distance from your typical wales holiday areas (although langollen and area is beautiful in its own right)

where staying in flintshire area i think, but have a car do dont mind travelling a bit to get somewhere, x

Look into Bala see if there is a hire system there but for canal type boating the link above for Llangollen is a good one . Not too far either

A good inexpensive hotel near Llangollen is the Moreton Park just outside of Chirk.
Staying there this Sunday, £29 for a lovely big double room. An all you can eat cooked breakfast is a fiver a head extra.
Looking forward to the drive over Horseshoe Pass and down onto the coast. Staying on Golden Sands caravan park at Kimnel Bay for a few nights.
Moving up there very soon and will be renting for a few months while we look for that special one to buy.

The drive over the Horseshoe is amazing and local visitors will agree with me here. Stop off at the Ponderosa cafe have a brew and soak up the views THEN . Follow the little road that goes around the back of the cafe down a small track road and head across the moors towards Minera/Coedpoeth (you can easily get back on track towards Kinmel bay after prob A525)you wont be sorry. Enjoy North Wales

I did the drive a couple of months ago, stopped at the top of horseshoe, and the views were A1.
Thanks for the tip about the cafe and detour.

We'll be renting in either Llandudno Junction, Upper Colwyn, Rhuddlan or Abergele. I'm just sorting out the viewings for next week now.
We'll be taking our time with the buying to make sure sure we pick the right place. I expect it'll be somewhere fairly close to the A55 between Abergele and Llandudno, but could be further west over the River Conwy, depending on where our adventures over the next few months take us.
