  • i take it you have obviously been made aware of these charges when you opened your account,or given notice at a later date, either would have given you the option to change banks,so the answer is NO,and if it isnt it should be

I wouldn't have thought so, Especially when you where aware of this when you entered into an agreement with them.

If you're having trouble paying it off, Then perhaps contact them and let them know your circumstances ? They might freeze the charges for now, Until you are able to start paying back the money.

No. You accepted the T&Cs of the account.

    No, not at all.

The only monthly fee I can think of will be for the Ultimate Reward Current Account (£12.50 a month). You will have agreed to this when you took the account out.

As for the £1 a day charges, these have been clearly communicated and it's your choice to be overdrawn or not.
Am i also able to claim these back????
    No.

Hey all finally got sar from halifax. Went through bank charges total came to just over 1700 including the 900 that at present.

Used martins bank charge template and calculator charges letter and asked for money back on the 12 july posted 14 july. Saying wanted 1700 back or going fos.

Checked my halifax account they cleared the 906.31 yesterday and puut balance and overdraft to 0.00.

So thank u Martin for this wonderful website.

Just wondering if they sent a cheq for difference.

IMHO this is not what should have happened; unless you've been able to prove you didn't agree to the charges.

As other's have said, it's your choice to be overdrawn or not and the charges were in line with your agreement. Pity they refunded you. What insentive do you have now to manage your money more responsibly?

As Charlie Brown would say... Good Grief.

It was never my choice to be over drawn its circumstances at the end of the day. Halifax knew what they have done to put me in this ridiculous position i my email is in no way of a boast that i got one over them.

At the end of the day i kept paying and they kept charging me but then who are you for me to justify myself to.

If halifax new they had done nothing wrong they wouldnt have coughed up with in days.

Are u saying to me they can justify charges of £155.00 per month when i clearly got my overdraft down to £120+ in one month????

When i called this morning to make sure the fees where from them i was told by they have refunded the fees as they were incorrect and that i was not in a position to pay these fees - these are the notes head office left on my account and she appologised for this error.

So if you have nothing nice to add do one.
