  • Hi.
I have recently been looking for multicar insurance only last week.
We are a 2 car household, and i found ecarinsurance on the web.
Very, very good quotes and INCLUDES legal cover AND breakdown cover.
Also, if you have 5 years NCB these are automaticaly protected for life with them. I downloaded the policy and it looks very comprehensie indeed. I also mailed a couple of question to them and they replied within 2 days.
You can also make changes to the policy at any time.
I will insure hubbys car in May with them as he has max NCB, then i will add my car on at a later date as i have 7years introductory bonus protected with hubbys insurance company, but if i leave them they will only give me 1 year, so am staying with my company at the moment.

You might find that once you insure your husband's car elsewhere, they'll remove your additional NCB too. Probably worth checking!

I thought Admiral's multicar policy sounded like a good idea - but it isn't necessarily. :(

They quoted £570 in total for our 2 cars which are currently costing us £480 on 2 separate policies.

To be honest, it's unlikely that any insurer will be the cheapest for both of your cars - we have never been able to insure them both with the same company without paying way over the odds - so even a supposed multi-car discount won't necessarily get the total premium to be better value.

For 2 cars in our household the total renewal using Norwich Union who we been with for years was £1450..... same cover with Admiral is under £700... less than half.

    With Admiral now :)

Hmm, I did read that Admiral are focussing on customers who are expensive to insure - so it would make sense that they work for wassup who would otherwise have paid £1450 for 2 cars, and not for us who would have only paid £480 for 2 cars.
