calculation help please

can someone help me to calculate the net profit if I sold an item for £70. AND BOUGHT IT FOR £53 sorry a bit thick to work out all the paypal and ebay costs if this was put on buy it now

    I know it's time consuming to have to look up all the fees etc, but you could try and come back with a figure, I'm sure many people would be happy to double check it for you.

    PS fees change depending on the category, so nobody would be able to help you anyway.

    I agree, not even profit margin at all in that if OP is a business seller and pays tax and NI as well as all the rest of the fees.

    log into paypal and check the item you sold, it will tell you how much you received and the fees charged via paypal.
    Then check in ebay and check how much it cost to list the item and final value fee.
    and then finaly check how much it cost to send the item.

    I think thats all you need.
    So what you do is (total in paypal) - (paypal fees) - (ebay listing fee) - (ebay FVFee) - (postage) = net profit

    Don't know if this is still valid as I have not sold anything for a while, but while I was an active seller my rule of thumb was 15% for all fees.

    sorry what does FVFEE mean. I do not pay tax NI I am just a private seller selling maybe a couple of items a week. This wa an item of clothing I have online and it was 40 pence to list on buy it now

    This is a good tool to use abay and paypal fees. http://ecal.!!!!!!/en/fee_calculator/ebay.co.uk/index.php

    You just enter you details and it will tell you you ebay and paypal fees.
