wireless tv dongle?

Hey guys,

Got an LG 47LX9900 3D ready tv. My question is how can I get it so it can connect wirelessly to my network in order to stream videos and such. Apparently I have to get an LG dongle that retails for like £50.

Are there any other options available to me? I'm not paying £50 for a dongle but if there are other options such as a media player with wireless capability then I dont mind spending over £50 as i'll get other benefits.

Thanks guys!

Not too sure you can, how would the TV detect the dongle?

That's what software (drivers) are normally for. Hence the need for a LG Dongle? Maybe that has the required software built into it.

But if it can be done I'd like to know also, as I have internet ready tv but don't fancy running a cable to it.

Think you can pick up a media player with wireless for around £100.

It's good to see that tesco are not detracting from the norm by selling cheap crap at over inflated prices.
An eGreat M34 will pi$$ all over that, and for a good £30 less than what Tesco are asking for hardware that went end of line years ago.

I did splash out the £50 for a dongle (seems to be the norm)- but was a little disappointed about the TV I was able to receive. I can get BBC iplayer, but no ITV, which I didn't realise.
Perhaps check on yours before splashing the cash?
Unless anyone knows a way I can receive it?

To be fair I googled, cut and pasted in space of 30 secs.

I wasn't recommending that model. Honest. It was meant as an example.

IIWY I'd use homeplugs and forget about a wireless connection to the TV.

I wasn't having a go at you personally, I wouldn't buy anything electrical from tesco because it is invariably nothing more than cheap rubbish that is way overpriced.

Sony are the same, I've run a cable (10m - £3.60) around the room. However if that's a problem, the homeplugs as suggested by penrhyn would be ok, but cost considerably more than a cable.
    Move along, nothing to see.
