ok long story short...divorced,lived with parents,just got a cottage to rent for me and son.

the landlord tells me both gas and electric are with edf.when i was married i had nothing to do with bills or providers i just provided the money..ex paid everything.

im now faced with a minefield of decisions on providers..just sorted phone with talk talk for£19.10 with broadband and now seeing which is best tarriff/provider.
i,ll be at work from 5.30am and back home 5pm..son school from 7.30 am home 4.30pm.
we move in on friday so im trying to be organised as possible,thanks for reading.

    The cheapest tariffs are nearly always dual fuel, online, DD tariffs. The problem with trying to use the comparison sites it that you dont know what your consumption will be like.

    When you say 'cottage' do you mean something small or small & old, if small & old you need to consider the level of insulation as this can make a big difference to your bills.

    Get an idea of the best tariffs using annual conumption figs on a comp site.
    If you are already on EDF, ask them for the annual kWh consumption figs at present.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
